Diyala Veterinary Doctors Syndicate Delegation Discusses Strengthening Health Monitoring and Food Safety with the Health Directorate

A delegation from the Diyala Branch of the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate, headed by Dr. Anas Abdullah Al-Zubaidi, visited the Public Health Department at the Diyala Health Directorate to discuss mechanisms for strengthening joint cooperation in the fields of health monitoring and food safety, as well as expanding veterinary supervision over markets and restaurants in support of public health.
In line with the directives of the President of the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate in Iraq, Dr. Alaa Hussein Al-Hasnawi, a delegation from the Diyala Branch of the Veterinary Doctors Syndicate, headed by Dr. Anas Abdullah Ahmed Al-Zubaidi, visited the Public Health Department at the Diyala Health Directorate with the aim of strengthening joint cooperation in the field of health monitoring and supporting the health and service sectors in the governorate. The delegation was received by the Director of the Public Health Department, Dr. Luqman Idris Saleh Al-Bayati, and the Director of the Health Monitoring Division, Dr. Ali Sajid Abdul Amir. During the meeting, discussions focused on mechanisms for developing coordination and cooperation between the two sides in a way that contributes to strengthening food safety measures and health monitoring. The meeting addressed the importance of including all markets, whether containing butcher shops or otherwise, within health monitoring and supervision operations, in addition to discussing the possibility of introducing veterinary supervision over restaurants, in a way that enhances health oversight and preserves the safety of food provided to citizens. It was also agreed to continue studying the matter after submitting the details of the meeting to the Syndicate’s General Headquarters and corresponding with the Ministry of Health / Public Health Directorate to take the necessary measures regarding the proposed recommendations. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing joint cooperation and coordination between health and syndicate institutions in a manner that serves public health, preserves food safety, and enhances community protection.
